January 26: The contractor continued to construct the promenade deck falsework and formwork to support the construction of the new concrete deck moving near the future Gate F terminal. They also began installing the rebar for the promenade deck canopy beam and completed placement of the first reinforced concrete deck section for the promenade. In preparation for future work additional rebar, falsework and scaffolding was delivered to the project. Over the next several weeks the contractor’s crews are scheduled to continue installing promenade deck falsework/formwork, install concrete deck embeds/rebar, install pile rebar cages in the lagoon area, place concrete for the promenade canopy beam and place concrete for the next section of promenade deck.

January 18: This week the contractor continued installing the side forms for the promenade canopy beam and finished installing the rebar mats for the first deck pour which is scheduled for the middle of next week. The contractor also continued forming what will be the foundation for the false work to support the promenade deck moving north toward the lagoon. The contractor successfully completed a day shift pile concrete pour in which 14 piles were filled with concrete. Over the next several weeks the contractor’s crews are scheduled to continue installing concrete deck embeds, rebar, and prepare for the upcoming promenade deck pours.

January 12: This week the contractor began installing the side forms and rebar mats in preparation for the first promenade deck concrete pour which is scheduled for next week. The contractor also continued forming false work that will support the promenade deck moving north toward the lagoon. Scheduled for next week are both a day shift concrete pile pour and the first night shift concrete deck pour. Over the next several weeks the contractor’s crews are scheduled to continue installing concrete deck embeds and rebar.

January 5: This week the contractor began installing the side forms for the first deck pour, the Aluma beam system that will support the promenade canopy beam and began to lay down plywood falsework upon which the promenade canopy beam will be poured. The contractor also laid out the catch basins and trench drains that will be embedded in the first promenade deck pour. Over the next several weeks the contractor’s crews are scheduled to begin installing concrete deck embeds, rebar, and prepare for the first promenade deck pour.

December 29: This week there was no work performed onsite. Starting in the new year, the contractor’s crews are scheduled to begin installing concrete deck embeds, rebar, and prepare for the first promenade deck concrete pour.

December 22: This week the contractor continued to form the beam system that will support the promenade deck during upcoming concrete pours. The crews continued to lay down plywood, and began filling in the formwork gaps around the piles with foam. The contractor is not planning to work next week but will be back to work on January 2nd, 2018. Starting in the new year, the contractor’s crews are scheduled to begin installing concrete deck embeds, rebar, and prepare for the first promenade deck pour.

December 15: This week the contractor finished stripping the soffit forms from the recently poured pedestrian bridge concrete pile caps. The crews began disassembling the beam system that held the form work up over the water. The contractor continued to install rebar cages and I-beams into the Promenade deck foundation piles on the east side of the Agricultural Building. The crew also successfully completed a small concrete pour in which 10 promenade foundation piles were filled. Over the next few weeks the contractor is scheduled to begin installing rebar and embeds for the Promenade deck, continue installing falsework hangers and scaffolding on piles, continue setting rebar cages and I-beams into the promenade foundation piles, and start preparing for the upcoming day time promenade pile pours and the nighttime pours for the new promenade deck.

December 8: This week the contractor stripped the formwork from the recently poured pedestrian bridge concrete pile caps, began installing the falsework for the promenade deck form work and also installed rebar cages into foundation piles on the east side of the Agricultural Building. Over the next few weeks the contractor is scheduled to install the temporary pedestrian bridge on the south side of the Agricultural Building, continue setting rebar cages into the promenade foundation piles, and start preparing for the upcoming nighttime concrete pours for the new promenade piles and deck.

December 1: This week the contractor successfully completed the first night shift concrete pour with construction crews placing approximately 44 cubic yards of concrete for the Pedestrian Bridge pile caps and several promenade foundation piles. Over the next few weeks the contractor is scheduled to install the temporary pedestrian bridge on the south side of the Agricultural Building, continue setting rebar cages into the promenade foundation piles, and start preparing for the upcoming nighttime concrete pours for the new promenade deck.

November 17: The contractor will complete its pile driving activities for the 2017 in-water work season after driving the final two remaining piles for the promenade next week. The contractor completed its first concrete pour last week and is preparing for a second concrete pour that will take place on a night shift the week after Thanksgiving. Into December, the contractor will continue to set promenade deck rebar cages into the foundation piles and proceed with additional periodic nighttime concrete pours for the new promenade deck.
