Project Update

August 17, 2018: This week the contractor continued installation of formwork and rebar for Deck Pour #11 on the North side of the lagoon. The contractor also successfully placed concrete in the remaining 24 inch piles in the lagoon.  At the promenade, the subcontractors began the installation of the doors at Gate F and continued the installation of electrical conduits at Gate G.
 
Over the next several weeks, the contractor is scheduled to continue work on formwork along the Ferry Building, begin work on the falsework in the middle of the lagoon, drive foundation piles for the promenade, and install the portals at Gate F and Gate G. Subcontractors are scheduled to place rebar for Deck Pour #11 and Deck Pour #14 and continue work on the curbs around the promenade.

Project Update

August 10, 2018: This week the contractor continued installation of formwork for Deck Pour #11 and falsework for the end of Deck Pour #11 and the beginning of Deck Pour #12 on the North side of the lagoon. The subcontractor continued installing rebar for Deck Pour #10 and Deck Pour #11.  At the promenade, the subcontractors began installing electrical conduits and roof drains for the Portals at Gate F and Gate G. The contractor began installing rebar cages and falsework beams in the piles that were recently driven in the lagoon. The contractor also successfully poured Deck Pour #10 in the lagoon.

Over the next several weeks, the contractor is scheduled to continue work on formwork along the Ferry Building, driving foundation piles for the promenade, and the portal installation at Gate F and Gate G. Subcontractors are scheduled to place rebar for Deck Pour #11 and Deck Pour #14, continue work on the portals at Gate F and Gate G, and continue work on the curbs around the promenade. Offsite, the floats and gangways will be in route to Alameda, while metal fabrication will continue in Alameda.

August 3, 2018: This week the contractor continued installation of formwork for Deck Pour #11 and falsework for the end of Deck Pour #11 and the beginning of Deck Pour #12 on the North side of the lagoon. The subcontractor continued installing rebar for Deck Pour #10 and Deck Pour #11.  At the promenade, the subcontractor along with the contractor set the Portals at Gate F and Gate G. The subcontractor began installing the door frames on the portal and another subcontractor began test fitting electrical to the structure.  With the pile driving season open, the contractor continued pile driving activities.

Over the next several weeks, the contractor is scheduled to continue work on formwork along the Ferry Building, driving foundation piles in the lagoon, and the installing the portals at Gate F and Gate G. Subcontractors are scheduled to place rebar and install conduits for Deck Pour #10 and Deck Pour #11, and continue work on the curbs around the promenade. Offsite, the floats and gangways will be in route to Alameda via the Panama Canal, while metal fabrication will continue in Alameda.

July 27, 2018: This week the contractor continued installation of formwork for Deck Pours #10 and #11 and falsework for the step up in Deck Pours #11 and #12 on the North side of the lagoon. The subcontractor continued installing rebar for Deck Pours #10 and #11.

A total of eight foundation piles were driven this week. Offsite, the floats and gangways continued the voyage to Alameda.

Over the next several weeks, the contractor is scheduled to continue installing formwork along the Ferry Building and driving foundation piles in the lagoon. Subcontractors are scheduled to place rebar and install conduits for Deck Pours #10 and #11, and continue work on the curbs around the promenade. Offsite, the floats and gangways will be in route through the Panama Canal, while metal fabrication will continue in Alameda.

July 20, 2018: This week the contractor continued installation of formwork for Deck Pour #10 and Deck Pour #11 and falsework for the step up in Deck Pour #11 on the North side of the lagoon. The contractor also began installing falsework and aluma beams for Deck Pour #12 and removing the side forms from the promenade curb, which was poured two weeks ago.

With the pile driving season open, the contractor continues to drive foundation piles in the lagoon. Offsite, the new floats and gangways began the voyage to San Francisco via the Panama Canal.

Over the next several weeks, the contractor is scheduled to continue work on formwork along the Ferry Building and continue driving foundation piles in the lagoon. Subcontractors are scheduled to place rebar and install conduits for Deck Pour #10 and Deck Pour #11, and continue work on the curbs around the promenade.

Project Update

July 13, 2018: This week the contractor continued installation of formwork for Deck Pour #10 and Deck Pour #11 and falsework for Deck Pour #11 on the North side of the lagoon. The contractor successfully poured Deck Pour #9 this week during a night shift. With the pile driving season open, the contractor has resumed pile driving activities in the lagoon.

Over the next several weeks, the contractor is scheduled to continue installing formwork along the Ferry Building in the lagoon and driving foundation piles in the lagoon. Subcontractors are scheduled to place rebar and install conduits for Deck Pour #10 and Deck Pour #11, and continue work on the curbs around the promenade. Offsite, the floats and gangways are being prepared for transport to California through the Panama Canal, while metal fabrication will continue in Alameda.

Project Update

June 8, 2018: This week work continued on the installation of rebar for concrete Deck Pour #8 and the installation of formwork for Deck Pour #9 and Deck Pour #10 in the lagoon. The subcontractor continued the installation of curb formwork on the promenade and stripped the formwork from the in-place mock-up of the curb near Gate G. The electrical subcontractor began installation of conduit that will be cast in Deck Pour #8. Offsite, coating repair on the interior of the floats and coating testing resumed, and conduits were installed. The first float entered the water this week to confirm that it had no issues floating. Coating continued for the gangways, along with coating tests.
 
Over the next several weeks, the contractor is scheduled to continue working on falsework and formwork along the seawall in the lagoon. Subcontractors are scheduled to place rebar and install conduits for Deck Pour #8 and Deck Pour #9, and continue work on the curbs around the promenade. The contractor is also scheduled to pour Deck Pour #8, which is the first plaza section to be poured. Offsite, once the gangways and floats are complete, they will be prepared for transport.

Project Update

June 1, 2018: This week work continued on the installation of rebar for concrete Deck Pour #8 and the installation of falsework for Deck Pour #9 and Deck Pour #10 in the lagoon. The subcontractor continued the installation of curb formwork on the promenade and poured the in-place mock-up of the curb near Gate G. Offsite, coating preparation on the exterior of the floats and paint coating on the interior of the floats continued for the terminal float #1 and terminal float #2, and the coating began on the last of the three gangways.

Over the next several weeks, the contractor is scheduled to continue working on falsework and formwork along the seawall in the lagoon. Subcontractors are scheduled to place rebar and install conduits for Deck Pour #8 and Deck Pour #9, and continue work on the curbs around the promenade. Offsite, once the gangways and floats are complete, they will be prepared for transport.

Project Update

May 11: This week work continued on the installation of steel falsework beams for concrete Deck Pour #9 while concrete was placed in the remaining piles at the lagoon. The contractor also continued installing plywood and side forms to support the concrete Deck Pour #8 in the lagoon and began installing the aluma beam system, plywood formwork and pony walls to support concrete Deck Pour #9 in the lagoon. Offsite, metal fabrication continued for the last of 3 new gangways, while paint coating began for the terminal float #1 and terminal float #2.

Over the next several weeks, the contractor is scheduled to continue removing formwork from Deck Pours #4 and #6. Formwork removed from Deck Pours #4 and #6 will be reused at Deck Pours #8 & #9 in the lagoon. The contractor is also scheduled to place concrete in the lagoon.

May 4: This week work continued on the installation of steel falsework beams for concrete Deck Pour #9 in the lagoon and concrete was placed at the seismic joint plate at the north end of Deck Pour #4 at the promenade. The contractor also continued installing their aluma beam system, plywood, and pony walls to support concrete Deck Pour #8 in the lagoon. Offsite, metal fabrication continued for the terminal float #1, terminal float #2 and painting and coating began for the 3 new gangways.

Over the next several weeks, the contractor is scheduled to continue installation of rebar cages, falsework, scaffolding and place concrete for the piles in the lagoon. They are also scheduled to remove formwork from deck pours #4 and #6. Formwork removed from deck pours #4 and #6 will be reused and installed at deck pours #8 & #9 in the lagoon. Offsite metals fabrication on the third gangway will continue and coating preparation will continue for the new terminal floats and gangways.
