Project Update

December 28, 2018: This week the contractor began installing the posts for the lights that will be mounted onto the fenders of the Gate F float. The electrical subcontractor continued installing conduit on the float while also pulling wire from the Gate F portal to the Gate F float. Work continued on the promenade as the contractor continued the installation of benches and the metal subcontractor began the installation of handrails on the west side of the promenade. Over the next several weeks, the contractor is scheduled install formwork for Deck Pour #15 for the plaza and continue work to complete Gate F.

Project Update

January 4, 2019: This week, the contractor and their subcontractors continued work on Gate F. The contractor continued installing the transition ramps from the gangway to the float and tightening the bolts on the pile collars on the Gate F Float. The electrical subcontractor continued installing conduit on the float and the metal subcontractor began the installation of the traditional handrails on the west side of the promenade and continued installing handrail on the Gate F Float.  The Gate F Portal work also continued with the installation of architectural metal. In the lagoon, the contractor began setting falsework beams for Deck Pour #15, while striping the forms from Deck Pour #14.
 
Over the next several weeks, the contractor is scheduled to install formwork for Deck Pour #15, complete the form removal from Deck Pour #14, continue work related to Gate F, and complete punch list items for Gate G.

Project Update

December 21, 2018: This week Gate G opened to the public for ferry service.  Other big news this week was the arrival of the Gate F float and gangway to the project site. Work continued along the promenade this week including the installation of benches, finishing the glazing on the promenade canopy and installation of the traditional handrails.  Crews also continued with installation of architectural metal and control wiring for the Gate F portal doors.

Over the next several weeks, the contractor is scheduled install formwork for Deck Pour #15 for the plaza, continue work on Gate F and complete punchlist items for Gate G.

Project Update

December 14, 2018: This week the contractor continued installing the float and gangway accessories for Gate G, including light fixtures, automatic sliding doors, and security cameras. The concrete subcontractor began power washing the concrete on the promenade, sawcutting joints into the curb near the ramp, and patching the stairs. The metal subcontractor continued installation of Gate G portal architectural metal, and began installing the seismic joint handrail at both ends of the pedestrian bridge. The waterproofing subcontractor placed caulking for the joints in the south laydown area and the installation of the canopy glazing continued.
 
Over the next several weeks, Gate G is scheduled to open to the public.  The contractor will also continue to install formwork for Deck Pour #15, install the float and gangway at Gate F, and install various portal components and site furnishings. Subcontractors are scheduled to install rebar for Deck Pour #15, and continue the installation of the canopy glazing, portal roofing/ waterproofing, electrical and communication components, and railings and site furnishings.

December 7, 2018: This week the contractor poured concrete for the pedestrian bridge approach, bollard foundation, and the light pole foundations in the south laydown area.  Waterside of Gate G, the contractor continued with the installation of float and gangway accessories and began cleanup of the piles.
 
Over the next several weeks, the contractor is scheduled to install formwork for Deck Pour #15, install the float at Gate F, and continue with the installation of the various portal components and site furnishings. Subcontractors are scheduled to install rebar for Deck Pour #15, continue the installation of the canopy glazing, continue installation of portal roofing/ waterproofing, continue the installation of electrical and communication components, and installation of railings and site furnishings.

November 30, 2018: This week the contractor continued with the installation of the float and gangway, while subcontractors began installing the electrical and communication on the float. The contractor also drove the last of the piles for this driving season and installed the donut fenders on the piles. The architectural metal installation continued at both portals, while the portal waterproofing installation began. On the promenade, the installation of the canopy glazing support brackets continued, while the installation of glazing began.
 
Over the next several weeks, the contractor is scheduled to install formwork for deck pour #15, install the float at Gate F, and continue with the installation of the various portal components. Subcontractors are scheduled to install rebar for deck pour #15, continue the installation of the canopy glazing, continue installation of portal roofing/ waterproofing, and continue the installation of electrical and communication components.

November 23, 2018: This week the contractor continued stripping the formwork in the lagoon from concrete Deck Pour #10 and Deck Pour #11. On the waterside of Gate G, the contractor continued with the installation of the float and gangway. The architectural metal installation continued a both portals, while the portal water proofing installation began. In the south lay down area, the contractor placed concrete for the pedestrian bridge landing, stairs and ramp. On the promenade, the installation of the canopy roof glazing support brackets continued.

Over the next several weeks, the contractor is scheduled to form concrete Deck Pour #15, install the float at Gate F, and continue with installation of the various portal components. Subcontractors are scheduled to install rebar for Deck Pour #15, continue the installation of the canopy glazing, begin installation of portal roofing/waterproofing, and continue the installation of electrical and communication components.

Project Update

November 16, 2018: This week, in the lagoon, the contractor continued stripping the soffit forms and alumna beams from Deck Pour #10 and Deck Pour #11, while also removing soil from the electrical line trench in the north lay down area. Waterside of Gate G, the contractor installed the float and attached the gangway, while the metal subcontractor continued to install architectural metal for the portal. In the south lay down area, the contractor continued to place forms for the landing and wheelchair ramp, stairs, and landing for Pour #7. On the promenade, the subcontractors continued to place reinforcement for the topping slab, to place drainage fabric, and to install joints and diamond dowels for the topping slab. The concrete subcontractor also finished pouring the promenade topping slab. The glazing subcontractor was on site this week to begin the installation of the canopy glazing.

Over the next several weeks, the contractor is scheduled to form the landing and wheelchair ramp for Pour #7 and Deck Pour #15, install the float and gangway at Gate F, and continue with installation of the various portal components at terminal Gate F. Subcontractors are scheduled to place rebar for Pour #7 and Deck Pour #15, continue the installation of the canopy glazing, begin installation of portal roofing and waterproofing, and continue installation of interim power and communication.

Project Update

November 9, 2018: This week, in the lagoon, the contractor continued stripping the soffit forms and aluma beams from Deck Pour #10 and Deck Pour #11, while also removing the cold joint forms from the end of Deck Pour #14. At Gate G, the contractor installed the gangway, while the metal subcontractor began to install architectural metal for the portal. In the south lay down area, the contractor continued to place forms for the landing and wheelchair ramp, stairs, and landing for Pour #7. On the promenade, the subcontractors continued to place drainage fabric, reinforcement, and joist and diamond dowels for the topping slab. The electrical subcontractor began pulling wire from the Agriculture Building to the electrical cabinets on the promenade.

Over the next several weeks, the contractor is scheduled to form the landing and wheelchair ramp for Pour #7 and Deck Pour #15, install the float at Gate G, and continue with installation of the various portal components at terminal Gate F and G. Subcontractors are scheduled to place rebar for Pour #7 and Deck Pour #15, continue installation of the promenade topping slab, continue installation of architectural metal and waterproofing, and continue installation of temp power and communication.

November 2, 2018: This week, in the lagoon, the contractor began stripping the side forms from Deck Pour #14. Waterside of Gate F, the contractor finished driving the piles for the Gate F float. In the south lay down area, the contractor continued to place forms for the landing and wheelchair ramp for Pour #7. On the promenade, the subcontractors continued to place reinforcement in the containment curb, continued to place formwork for the containment curb, continued to install the curbed guardrail, and completed the pour of the remaining containment curbs. The electrical subcontractor tied into the AG Building electrical panels for power.
 
Over the next several weeks, the contractor is scheduled to form the landing and wheelchair ramp for Pour #7 and Deck Pour #15, install the float and gangway at Gate G, and continue with installation of the various portal components at terminal Gate F. Subcontractors are scheduled to place rebar for Pour #7 and Deck Pour #15, continue installation of the promenade topping slab, begin installation of portal roofing and waterproofing, and continue installation of interim power and communication.
