Project Update

April 20: This week work continued on installation of steel falsework beams for concrete Deck Pours #8 & #9 in the lagoon and finished installing rebar for Deck Pours #4 and #6 at the promenade terminal F location. The contractor also placed concrete for deck pours #4 and #6 at the Gate F location. Over the next several weeks, the contractor is scheduled to install rebar cages, falsework, scaffolding and place concrete for the piles in the lagoon. Formwork will be removed from deck pour #4 and #6 while formwork will be installed for deck pours #8 & #9 in the lagoon.

Project Update

April 13: This week the contractor began installing falsework beams in the lagoon for Deck Pour #8 and Deck Pour #9 and continued installing the formwork, plywood protection, trench drains, and the seismic joint block out for Deck Pour #4 at the Promenade and Deck Pour #6 at Gate F. Also, the electrical subcontractor began installing conduits into the Deck Pour #4 and Deck Pour #6 locations in preparation for the concrete pour scheduled for next week.

Over the next several weeks, the contractor is scheduled to install rebar cages, falsework, scaffolding and place concrete for the piles in the lagoon. Formwork will also be installed in preparation for deck pours #8 & #9 in the lagoon and subcontractors will finish installing electrical conduit and rebar in preparation for the concrete Deck Pours #4 and #6 which is currently scheduled for the night of April 14th.

Project Update

March 30: This week the contractor began installing the area drains at the end of Deck Pour #6, continued installing the formwork, catch basins and trench drains for Deck Pour #4 at the promenade and Deck Pour #6 at Gate F. PEC began seawall exploration in the South lay down area, while in the lagoon area, installation continued for the remaining rebar cages and falsework beams. Additionally, the crews continued to strip the soffit forms and beams from Deck Pour #3. Offsite, metal fabrication continued for terminal float #1, terminal float #2 and the 3 new gangways. Conrad worked on bending roof beams for the gangways and welding columns into place for the floats.

Over the next several weeks, the contractor is scheduled to place more rebar cages and columns in the piles in the lagoon and install more scaffolding on the lagoon piles. The contractor will have a pile pour for the remaining Lagoon piles. They will also finish form work, install rebar and place concrete for Deck Pours #4 and #6. Meanwhile, offsite metals fabrication will continue and coating preparation will begin for the new terminal floats and gangways.

March 16: This week the contractor began installing the falsework to support concrete deck pour #6 for the new Gate F Terminal. The contractor also continued to install aluma beams and formwork for concrete Deck Pour #4 and began installing the rebar mat for concrete deck pour #5 at the Gate G terminal. Meanwhile on the gulf coast, work continued with fabrication of terminal float #1, terminal float #2 and the gangways. Over the next several weeks the contractor is scheduled to place more rebar cages in the piles at the lagoon, install more lagoon pile scaffolding, place concrete for deck pour #5, and install formwork for future concrete deck pours.

March 9: This week the contractor continued installing the falsework that will support the promenade deck for pour #4 to the west of new Gate G location. The contractor began installing aluma beams and plywood decking for Deck Pour #4. Over the next several weeks the contractor is scheduled to place more rebar cages and columns in the piles in the lagoon, install more scaffolding on the lagoon piles, install falsework/formwork at promenade deck pour #4 and deck pour #6 and install formwork for lagoon deck pour #8.

March 2: This week the contractor continued installing the falsework and plywood formwork to support the new promenade deck for concrete pour #5 for the new Gate G terminal. Additionally, The contractor placed concrete in 23 lagoon piles. Over the next several weeks the contractor is scheduled to place rebar cages and columns in the lagoon piles, install more scaffolding on the lagoon piles, install falsework/formwork at promenade deck pour #6 and install formwork for lagoon deck pour #8.

February 23:: This week the contractor began installing the falsework that will support the promenade deck for pour #5 at the new Gate G location and also began installing rebar cages and falsework columns in the piles in the lagoon. Over the next several weeks the contractor is scheduled to place concrete in piles at the lagoon, install more scaffolding on the lagoon piles, install falsework/formwork at promenade deck pour #5 and install formwork for lagoon deck pour #8.

February 16: This week the contractor removed the falsework supporting the promenade deck concrete pour #2 and began reinstalling it for promenade deck pour #5 at the new Gate G location. The contractor also placed concrete for promenade deck pour #3. Over the next several weeks the contractor is scheduled to place concrete in piles at the lagoon, install more scaffolding on the lagoon piles, install falsework/formwork at promenade deck pour #5 and install formwork for lagoon deck pour #8.

Project Update

February 9: This week the contractor began to strip forms from the promenade deck concrete pour #2, placed concrete in piles located in the southwest corner of the lagoon, placed concrete for the promenade canopy beam and continued installation of concrete embeds in preparation for the promenade concrete deck pour #3. Over the next several weeks the contractor is scheduled to continue work onsite installing concrete deck embeds, rebar, utilities conduits and placing concrete for the promenade deck, while offsite metals fabrication will continue for the new terminal floats.

Project Update

February 1: This week the contractor continued installing the side forms for the future promenade deck concrete pours, finished installing the rebar mats for the promenade canopy beam, and began installing the bottom mat for deck pour #3. The contractor also began installing embeds for the promenade canopy structure and the pedestrian bridge seismic joint. Meanwhile, metal plates are being cut offsite in preparation for fabricating the new terminal floats and gangways. Over the next several weeks the contractor is scheduled to continue installing concrete deck embeds, rebar, placing concrete for the promenade deck while continuing to cut metal for the terminal floats/gangway fabrication.
