Project Update

October 25, 2019: This week the granite subcontractor continued placing mortar and granite blocks for the seating area and landing on the north side of the plaza. The granite subcontractor also installed waterproofing on the top of the plaza along the planter. The waterproofing subcontractor applied waterproofing on the plaza and the north amphitheater stepped seating, so that the granite subcontractor could install the setting bed on the north steps. The contractor prepared for Deck Pour #21 by installing side forms, drilling holes for the dowels, and placing the epoxy and dowels. The contractor continued demo at the seawall and install  of wave baffle forms, and continued demo at the north driveway. This week the rebar subcontractor began installing the rebar for the east side of Deck Pour #21, which will be done in two parts.  The concrete subcontractor worked to install the containment band formwork on Deck Pour #20.

Over the next several weeks, the contractor and their subcontractors are scheduled to place dowels, rebar, and concrete for Deck Pour #21, install the promenade canopy glazing, install the Gate E portal electrical and granite, continue the refurbishment of the Gate E Float, continue installing granite for the mockup area and the West amphitheater seating, and complete punch list items related to Section 1.

Project Update

October 18, 2019: This week the granite subcontractor continued placing mortar and granite blocks for the seating area on the North side of the plaza. The granite subcontractor also placed the setting bed on the top of the plaza along the planter, while continuing to place granite for the landing on the North side of the plaza. The contractor continued adjusting formwork for the bolster beams prior to successfully placing concrete in the beams. The contractor also began placing foam blocks within the east side of Deck Pour #21, while also placing epoxy and dowels. This week the contractor began the demo of the topping slab to the North of Deck Pour #22. The metal subcontractor continued work on the stair handrails on the plaza. The concrete subcontractor successfully placed concrete for the promenade curb and the containment edge on the Deck Pour #14 ramp. The concrete subcontractor also continued to place side forms for the curb on Deck Pour #22. The door subcontractor began the install of the door frame and hardware for the Gate E portal.
 
Over the next several weeks, the contractor and their subcontractors are scheduled to place dowels, rebar, and concrete for Deck Pour #21, install the promenade canopy glazing, install the Gate E portal electrical and granite, continue the refurbishment of the Gate E Float, continue installing granite for the mockup area and the West amphitheater seating, and complete punch list items related to Section 1.

Project Update

October 11, 2019: This week the granite subcontractor continued placing mortar and granite blocks for the seating area to the North of the mockup area. The granite subcontractor also placed the setting bed and crack suppression membrane on the North side of the plaza and continued placing granite for the Gate E Portal. The contractor continued adjusting formwork for the bolster beams along with stripping soffit forms from the South end of Deck Pour #20. The contractor also began setting the catch basins within Deck Pour #21. This week the contractor successfully placed concrete for Deck Pour #22 while also placing sika near the east most set of stairs on the North side of the plaza. The metal subcontractor continued work on the Gate E portal while also working on the seismic joint embed extensions on the North side of the plaza. The concrete subcontractor continued placing side forms for the promenade curb and the containment edge on the Deck Pour #14 ramp. The glazing subcontractor continued working on the promenade canopy in preparation for glazing and the gutters to be installed.
 
Over the next several weeks, the contractor and their subcontractors are scheduled to place dowels, rebar, and concrete for Deck Pour #21, install the promenade canopy glazing, install the Gate E portal electrical and granite, pour the bolster beam, continue the refurbishment of the Gate E Float, continue installing granite for the mockup area and the West amphitheater seating, and complete punch list items related to Section 1.

Project Update

September 27, 2019: This week, the granite subcontractor continued placing mortar and granite blocks for the seating area to the North of the mockup area, placed the setting bed and crack suppression membrane in the Northwest corner of the plaza, and continued to drill dowel holes within Deck Pour #12 for the granite blocks. The contractor began stripping the soffit forms from Deck Pour #20 while also installing formwork, drilling and dowelling of rebar for the bolster beams. This week the metal subcontractor placed the Gate E door frame, continued work on the promenade canopy, installing the handrail extensions for the stairs on the West side of the plaza and installing embed extensions on the North side of the plaza.

Over the next several weeks, the contractor and their subcontractors are scheduled to place concrete and rebar for Deck Pour #22, place dowels, rebar, and concrete rebar for Deck Pour #21, install the promenade canopy glazing, install the Gate E portal electrical and granite, pour the bolster beam, continue the refurbishment of the Gate E Float, continue installing granite for the mockup area and the West amphitheater seating, and complete punch list items related to Section 1.

September 20, 2019: This week, the granite subcontractor continued placing mortar and granite blocks for the seating area to the North of the mockup area. The granite subcontractor also placed the setting bed and crack suppression membrane on the second set of stairs on the West side of the plaza. The contractor continued installing formwork for the bolster beams along with the side forms and formwork for Deck Pour #22. The contractor also placed concrete for the Gate E portal pedestals. This week the metal subcontractor, with the assistance of the contractor, set the promenade canopy and the Gate E portal. The metal subcontractor also began the installation of the handrail extensions at the stairs on the West side of the plaza and continued the installation on embed extensions in the Northwest corner of the plaza.

Over the next several weeks, the contractor and their subcontractors are scheduled to place concrete and rebar for Deck Pour #21 and Deck Pour #22, install rebar for Deck Pour #22, place dowels and rebar for Deck Pour #21, install the promenade canopy glazing, install the Gate E portal electrical and granite, pour the bolster beam, continue the refurbishment of the Gate E Float, continue installing granite for the mockup area and the West amphitheater seating, and complete punch list items related to Section 1.

September 13, 2019: This week the granite subcontractor continued placing mortar and granite pavers for the mockup area on the top of the plaza and along the lower step. The granite subcontractor also placed the setting bed on the West side of the plaza, while also placing granite cladding around the light pedestal. The contractor continued the installation of side forms and formwork for Deck Pour #22. The contractor also began installing formwork for the bolster beams. The rebar subcontractor began installing rebar for the bolster beams that run underneath Deck Pour #21, while also installing rebar for the Gate E portal pedestals. The waterproofing subcontractor was onsite to install the stego wrap and J-drain on the Northwest corner of the plaza.
 
Over the next several weeks, the contractor and their subcontractors are scheduled to place concrete and rebar for Deck Pour #21 and Deck Pour #22, install formwork and rebar for Deck Pour #22, place dowels and rebar for Deck Pour #21, install the promenade canopy, install the Gate E portal, pour the Gate E pedestals, continue the refurbishment of the Gate E Float, continue installing granite for the mockup area and the West amphitheater seating, and complete punch list items related to Section 1.

September 6, 2019: This week the granite subcontractor continued placing mortar and granite pavers for the mockup area on the top of the plaza and along the lower step. The granite subcontractor also placed their setting bed and crack suppression membrane on the lower step of the west side of the plaza. The contractor continued the installation of side forms for Deck Pour #23, while also installing the trench drains, area drains, and portal embed bolts. The contractor also prepared for the concrete placement for Deck Pour #20 and Deck Pour #23 by cleaning debris off the deck of both pours, installing block outs for the promenade canopy, and closing the trench drains with plywood and duct tape. The rebar subcontractor finished installing rebar for Deck Pour #20 and Deck Pour #23. The electrical subcontractor finished installing electrical and communications conduit within Deck Pour #23. The contractor successfully placed concrete for Deck Pour #20 and Deck Pour #23.
 
Over the next several weeks, the contractor and their subcontractors are scheduled to place concrete and rebar for Deck Pour #21 and Deck Pour #22, install formwork and rebar for Deck Pour #22, place dowels and rebar for Deck Pour #21, install the promenade canopy, install the Gate E portal, pour the Gate E pedestals, continue the refurbishment of the Gate E Float, continue installing granite for the mockup area and the West amphitheater seating, and complete punch list items related to Section 1.

August 30, 2019: This week the granite subcontractor continued placing mortar and granite blocks for the mockup area for the seating and planter walls. The granite contractor also placed the crack suppression membrane on the top of the plaza mockup area. The contractor continued stripping the side forms from Deck Pour #12 and Deck Pour #13. The contractor also continued drilling holes for dowels on the topside of Deck Pour #21, while also installing side forms for the South side of Deck Pour #21. The contractor continued the installation of side forms for Deck Pour #23, while also installing the catch basins, area drains, and portal embeds. The rebar subcontractor continued installing rebar for the Deck Pour #20 curb and deck, while also installing rebar for Deck Pour #23. The electrical subcontractor continued installing electrical and communications conduit within Deck Pour #20, while also installing electrical and communications conduit for Deck Pour #23. The contractor also began placing formwork for Deck Pour #22 while also adjusting the falsework beams.

Over the next several weeks, the contractor and their subcontractors are scheduled to place concrete and rebar for Deck Pour #20 and Deck Pour #23, install formwork and rebar for Deck Pour #22, place dowels and rebar for Deck Pour #21, install the promenade canopy, continue the install of granite for the mockup area and the West amphitheater seating, continue the refurbishment of the Gate E Float, and complete punch list items related to Section 1.

August 23, 2019: This week the granite subcontractor continued placing mortar and granite blocks for the mockup area. The contractor began stripping the side forms from Deck Pour #12 and Deck Pour #13. The contractor also continued drilling holes for dowels on the topside of Deck Pour #21, while also installing side forms for the South side of Deck Pour #21. The rebar subcontractor continued installing rebar for the Deck Pour #20 curb and deck. The electrical subcontractor began installing electrical and communications conduit within Deck Pour #20, while the plumbing subcontractor installed the water line within Deck Pour #20. The contractor continued the installation of formwork for Deck Pour #23, while also installing plywood and side forms. This week, the contractor also drove the 5 barrier piles along the North side of Pier 14.

Over the next several weeks, the contractor and their subcontractors are scheduled to place concrete and rebar for Deck Pour #20 and Deck Pour #23, place dowels and pour concrete for Deck Pour #21, continue the install of granite for the mockup area, continue the refurbishment of the Gate E Float, and complete punch list items related to Section 1.

August 16, 2019: This week, the granite subcontractor continued the placement of mortar and granite blocks. The waterproofing subcontractor began installing waterproofing on the top section of the plaza. The contractor successfully placed concrete for the stepped seating in Deck Pour #12 and the slab in Deck Pour #13 during a night pour. The contractor began installing the dowels in Deck Pour #21 and continued installing side forms for the South side of Deck Pour #21. The rebar subcontractor continued installing rebar for the Deck Pour #20 canopy beam and deck. The contractor began installing catch basins and trench drains within Deck Pour #20, while also installing the promenade canopy embeds within the canopy beam. The contractor continued installing the falsework beams for Deck Pour #23, while also beginning the installation of formwork for Deck Pour #23.
 
Over the next several weeks, the contractor and their subcontractors are scheduled to place rebar and concrete for Deck Pour #20 and Deck Pour #23, place dowels, rebar, and formwork for Deck Pour #21, install falsework and formwork for Deck Pour #22, continue the install of granite for the mockup area, continue the refurbishment of the Gate E Float, and drive barrier piles along Pier 14.
